Nest #6 status and archive, 2012-13

Male band #0919. This is a very old bird, we estimate about 17 years. He has raised chicks many times, but not every year. This pair was in our study last year and raised 2 strong chicks. They have built thier nest in the exact same spot as last year and are on a slope at the edge of a very large breeding group. We hope his neighbors will help fend off the Skuas. His first egg was laid on Nov 16th last year, let's see what happens this yearThis pair has been named Squirt (the male) and Sprinkles (the female) by Jennifer Ersler's class at Grayslake MS, Grayslake, IL. The first chick has been named Balou by Reinhard Max's class in Germany.
